birds
Diane B asked:

We have been having a very severe storm with rain and winds up to 180 km per hour — and I just wonder what happens to the birds during a storm like this? Do they know it is coming and leave or do they find shelter, if so where? Also I don’t know what category to list this question under so please don’t tell me I have listed it in the wrong one.

Great category Diane. Weather. Birds and animals by instinct can sense bad weather. They seek shelter where ever they can find it. Birds take cover in nests, roughage and where that can. Animals find places to crawl into. It amazes me how, when I watch the wildlife disappear and not long after wards a storm hits.

Want to forecast the immediate weather watch the animals and birds.

I’m sure they take shelter nearby, because the return quickly after the storm. I also think they have a weather bird. I feed then and just before a Storm there are more gathered round trying to get food. That is not to say that some birds don’t fly far away from the storm. With winds like that I don’t think I would be out looking for them.?
